CBD And How It Has Helped My Mental Health

Have you heard of CBD or hemp? It’s being touted as a miracle vitamin, drug, oil, etc.

They have hemp in everything from hemp seeds and hemp clothing, to even hemp shoes and tires.

But, CBD is being used medicinally in medical marijuana, as well as from the high-CBD, low-THC hemp plant. Many companies are selling CBD oil, edibles (such as gummy bears/worms), pet treats, topicals, and even flower!

I saw CBD in my local vape shop, bought some, then did some research on it before taking it. I discovered TONS of people being helped by it for various reasons, such as back pain, all the way to anxiety.

So I decided to give it a shot. I bought from a reputable brand, and waited until my anxiety was high. I bought a vape pen and used it. I was instantly relieved in a matter of seconds. It seemed like a miracle, but I kept using it and testing it throughout the month. It always did it’s job, and with the only side effect for me being sleepiness. But that was great, because I am a lifelong insomniac, since I started puberty (many many years ago!).

It’s been maybe 6 or so months. I have joined groups, followed those on Instagram who use CBD, and have researched CBD even MORE thoroughly, as well as, the different companies and farms out there. It’s a very interesting topic to discuss, and research. People of all ages use it. It has helped with minor pains, anxiety (minor to severe), and even my depressive episodes to a large degree!

While I want to say I am NOT a doctor or medical professional, and my experiences are my own. There. But I do recommend that those who are curious to read more into it.

Eating Disorders And Schizophrenia

I’m not sure how I feel about this, but I’ve somehow dug myself into a really deep hole.

Through gaining weight on medications, I’ve become really resistant to food. I want to lose weight so badly. It’s bad enough, the side effects of all these meds like Haldol and Seroquel, and mostly all of them. Now i’ll just do anything to lose weight…

I just finished a bowl of spaghetti from a restaurant. It took me 3 days to eat it. I would take 4-5 bites and I would be full. I can’t eat much because I’ve come to starve myself so much in the past few months to lose weight. Some days I didnt eat at all. This could possibly turn into some sort of new diagnosis for me, in regards to disordered eating…but I don’t want this to come to light. Although, if I become thin enough, it will. I’ve already had people badmouthing me and telling me that I am too getting too skinny. Which I know for a fact isn’t true. I started losing weight when I was in the 150’s this year. Which actually made me overweight – borderline obese. I gained weight in the past, going up to 180, but I lost it in healthy ways. I actually dont know how I did it.

Well, I know how I am losing it now.

Honestly I see all of this as a result of what the Antipsychotics put me through. Gaining weight on them is just one side effect but for most people taking them, it’s major, and personally it lowered my self esteem so much. I couldn’t walk much without getting tired. My joints were hurting all the time and I had back and knee pain from being overweight. I also was pre-Diabetic. And of course, I didnt look good.

Parents Who Help

sometimes im jealous of people who have parents that do everything they can to help them through stuff like this. all the stories ive read about people (usually moms) doing all this stuff and learning about the issues with their child and finding them help.

it brings a real heartache to my chest.
thats never been either of my parents TBH.
they initially didnt want me to have anything to do with psychiatry when I was a teen. very little. i begged for help at the time because living was very unbearable. i eventually hit a rock bottom and quite literally physically and mentally and emotionally dropped out of school without actually technically dropping out. even though before i was giong to  psychiatrist and been to a hospital, they took it more seriously when i became 17 and had become I think so depressed and not doing anything, that I had my first full psychotic break.

they still dont know what to do. or how to do anything. just like in the past. except now they have left it really all up to the mental health system of which i want nothing more than to run away from.  but i am not someone who is able to live without some kind of help. its never proven to be more hard and uncomfortable living with schizophrenia until the early twenties of my life. i will be 23 this month and even though i was diagnosed with schizoaffective at 17 and had symptoms since about 9 years old, It hasnt proven to be so hard until i hit 20 and has become so unrelentingly, mindblowing, head spinning, disorientingly, sicken-ly, harder every year i have grown older.

The Idea of Recovery Has Become Non-Existant

Everytime i realize i dont have anyone around me to talk to i tear up a little. Pathetic.

Talking to people online isnt something i truly wanted. i started doing it to temporarily combat loneliness until i found someone in the real world. 3 years later i still have no one and my presence online has increased 3-4x times as much as i even wanted it to. Yet i’m getting to a point where I dont want to talk at all, now. Or maybe I just see the act of telling someone how I feel and what I think is becoming pointless really. Through the limited help i’ve recieved, and through all the cracks i’ve fallen through in my life, I feel the whole “sharing” and “being open” about oneself has had its opportunity where I could have done that. But I am become less open to being open with someone one on one anymore, online or in real life. I havent quit yet, but I cant say it will stick around much longer. It’s been diminished drastically. Also my wanting to get professional help.

I went through my late teens adhering and being completely compliant in every way thrown at me. Then when I became twenty i denounced medication but still was very open to any and all therapys or treatments non-pharma related. Now around my 23rd birthday, i’m not sure how i feel about anything at all. Period.
